The Borneo Research Council was founded in 1968 and its members consist of "Fellows, an international group of scholars who are professionally engaged in research in Borneo [Borneo Research Bulletin, vol. 18, no. 2, pg. 216]." The goals of the Council are to promote scientific research in Borneo; to disseminate rapidly the results of research activity; facilitate research by reporting on the current conditions in Borneo; to permit the Borneo government, research community, and others interested parties to keep aware of ongoing projects; to raise awareness of ongoing issues in Borneo; and to help coordinate the dissemination of information on Borneo from a variety of sources. Funding for the Council comes from the subscriptions to its Borneo Research Bulletin. Fellows are formally invited to be members of the council. [IBID, 216]

A note about the contents of this site

This website contains the best available information from known sources at the time it was written. Unfortunately, many of the early original records of William & Mary were destroyed by fires, military occupation, and the normal effects of time. The information in this website is not complete, and it changes as we continue to research and uncover new sources.
